Facilities
Music Theatre students have the opportunity to use and enhance their skills by taking part in performances held at the Princeton and Lawrenceville campuses. Each academic year, the Princeton campus holds two music theater and two opera productions, while the Lawrenceville presents three major productions, one a music theater work. Westminster students can audition for all productions and may be interested in student-directed events performed at the Spitz.
The performance facilities for the Princeton and Lawrenceville campuses are:
- Bristol Hall – a 350-seat recital facility for students, faculty, and guest performers.
- Williamson Hall – a 100-seat facility providing an intimate setting for recitals and chamber ensembles.
- The Playhouse/Opera Theatre – a 300-seat theater equipped with a stage and two Steinway grand pianos.
- The Yvonne Theater – a newly refurbished, 450-seat, state-of-the-art theater on Rider University’s Lawrenceville campus.
- The Spitz – a newly renovated 100-seat studio theater on Rider’s Lawrenceville campus.
- Princeton High School Performing Arts Center – located across the street from the Princeton campus, the Center features an 800-seat auditorium with an orchestra pit and a black box theater.
In addition to participating in major productions, students also are encouraged to produce their own shows on campus and look into performance opportunities abound at well-known community theaters, such as:
- Paper Mill Playhouse
- Pocono Playhouse
- Bucks County Playhouse
- McCarter Theatre at Princeton University.
