Learning Resources and Special Opportunities

In their educational pursuits, Westminster students can take advantage of our many resources!

  • Practice rooms are available in each of our three residence halls.
  • Our state-of-the-art Computer Lab for Music Learning lets you sharpen your technique or polish your latest composition.
  • Our Piano Lab offers coaching on keyboard technique.
  • Our Voice Resource Center for Vocal Pedagogy uses the latest equipment to analyze your vocal technique.

Music Theater majors may also take advantage of special opportunities to enhance their Westminster education:

  • Talk Backs
For an inside look at the theater, our curriculum includes trips to New York City to see shows and participate in "talk backs" – when the cast comes out at the end of the show to  meet with students and discuss what happens on stage and how they got started in music theater.

  • Junior Cabaret
Our third-year music theater students have the opportunity to "test drive" their performing skills off campus by performing in a Junior Cabaret at Odette’s in New Hope, PA.  This is the same venue where top New York and Philadelphia area performers have appeared in cabaret and theater dinner shows, held in the intimate setting of the Theater Room – the longest running Cabaret Room on the East Coast.

  • Senior Showcase
The capstone to our music theater program is the Senior Showcase in New York City where the current class of seniors are "presented" to the industry.  Held in the spring, our seniors perform before casting directors, managers, and agents in this essential bridge between academia and the marketplace.
