Dr. Goldie's research and teaching interests include English medieval literature, post-colonial literatures, history of the English language, memory, and creative writing. He has published an anthology of medieval historical primary sources for use in the classroom, articles on medieval literature, and poetry. He is originally from New Zealand, where the Middle Ages began about the tenth century when the indigenous population, maoris, first arrived in the country they named and still call Aotearoa. He left Aotearoa/New Zealand in 1989 to complete an M.F.A. in Creative Writing (poetry) in New York, continued with the Ph.D., and has lived in the city ever since.
