Why did you choose to attend Rider University?
I chose to attend Rider University because it is a well known University in the Accounting and Business worlds.  It is AACSB accredited both for the Business school and Accounting.  From the first day I walked on Rider’s campus for an Information Session for Accounting majors, the professors were so knowledgeable and caring about my career plans that I knew this college fit my needs completely.

What do you like most about Rider?
I feel that Rider offers more than book knowledge when it comes to academics.  It is a combination of theory and real-life learning in almost every class.  Some classes teach you that you really have to take initiative for your own learning.  That is difficult to accept when you first start college, but it is something that will only help you in the future.

Rider has many social events for the entire Rider community that makes it a place where you can learn in the classroom and also have fun outside of the classroom.  I have been to many of the events hosted by the many Rider organizations and Rider’s Entertainment Council.

What was/is your favorite course?
My favorite course is Managerial Accounting, where I am learning the basic principles of accounting from an internal perspective and is something I will need in my career.

What professor at Rider has influenced you the most?
Professor DeFrehn, my Introduction to Marketing professor, has influenced me very positively because of the lessons he teaches beyond the classroom material.  He focuses on teaching us how to live out in the real world, and how critical it is for us as college students to grasp the importance of taking away the most from our college experience.

What has been your most memorable learning experience at Rider?
My best learning experience at Rider has been participating in the many clubs and organizations that Rider has to offer.  From these, I’ve learned about career opportunities, leadership training skills, and about other interests I have – like photography.  I’ve learned to manage my time well.

What are your plans after Rider?
I plan to complete my B.A. in Accounting and Finance and continue at Rider to earn my Masters in Accounting.

More about Maidul:  My family loves the Rider campus and I love the small classroom sizes.  At Rider, you can enjoy the scenic campus on those warm sunny mornings walking to class, and cooling down with an iced coffee drink from Java City in the evenings.  It is a campus that has much to offer, and teaches the students values of life and so much beyond classroom knowledge.
